Junk Car Buyer Scams Happen Everyday!

I wanted to make a quick post about the most recent Junk Car Buyer scams going around in the junk car industry. As I learn about these things, I try to post them.

Recently I have been getting a lot of reports of two things the first, is people are calling other salvage car buying companies and getting very high quotes for their vehicle only to find out that the quote is not accurate.

Here is How the Junk Car Buyer Scams Work

You call the company to get a quote; the company is located anywhere. They then send you an envelope and request you to send them the title to your vehicle. After they receive the title, they have a towing company pick up your junk or old car. They then do a condition report on your car and go down on the price that they quoted you.  If you don’t like their new quote, then they expect you to have your vehicle towed back along with paying the original tow bill from the first tow.

I can’t believe that this has been going on without any criminal charges being brought against these companies.  Wrong to do, and it is having a horrible impact on the junk industry.  We at Houston Junk Car Buyer will never participate nor be any part of this practice. In our opinion, this is fraud!

• Another scam is the “Vacation Voucher.” What happens if you will call a company, and they will give you a cheap quote on your junk car or truck. Then they will tell you that it includes a free vacation for up to four people.
• When the company comes out to pick up your vehicle, they do not have the vacation vouchers with them. They tell you that they will mail coupons to you. Of course, you never receive the vouchers in the mail.
• This is a fraud any way you put it. This practice is wrong and will ultimately give all junk buyers a lousy reputation.

Watch Out

I get calls all the time asking us if we offer these vouchers, no we don’t.  We do not practice this fraud, nor will we ever. Houston Junk Car Buyer has been in business for many years and is family owned and operated. Our motto is to treat others the way we would want to be treated!!
